Yachtmaster offshore

Candidate must have: 50 days experience, 3000 miles traveled of which 2000 miles of coastal sailing. Experience of night crossings.

The Yachtmaster offshore qualification is subdivided into Yachtmaster offshore sail, Yachtmaster offshore power, Yachtmaster offshore catamaran qualifications.

Those who have obtained the Yachtmaster Offshore Sail Catamaran qualification can automatically obtain the “International Certificate of Competence” (ICC), provided the candidate meets the requirements set by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (Resolution 40). Please note that the ICC certificate will not state “catamaran”.

The candidate must be over 18 years of age.

Meet medical health requirements.

Qualified to operate vessels up to 24 meters with up to 150 miles offshore.

A VHF radio operator’s certificate is mandatory.

Divided into: sail, motor, catamaran.

Separately studied theory and separately practice on the yacht.

Topics that are included in the training:

  1. Navigation.
  2. Meteorology.
  3. Tides
  4. Colision Regulation 72.
  5. Buisns an Law.

All subjects are subject to a written examination. In practice the candidate must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of yacht and crew handling, both under sail and power.
